Mayors Charity
We are very proud that Mayor of Morpeth Cllr. Phil Taylor has announced that Barnabas Safe & Sound will be the Mayors Charity for the year 2011-2012. The Mayor supports the work of all the charities and voluntary organisations in the town but it is a special honor to be recognised by the Mayor for our work in the town and we will be supporting his efforts to make it a successful year.
2009-2010 Over £5000 raisied
Last year we raised over £5,000 from members of the local community either through events such as the sponsored abseil off the Vermont Hotel, the Fashion Show supported by Sanderson Arcade, one off and regular gifts from supporters. All of this funding will make a difference directly benefitting young people in the local community.
Last year a significant sum was donated by the friends of John Murphy, a friend and trustee who sadly died during the year. It is Trustees intention that this forms the basis for a personal development fund which local young people will be able to apply for to help them reach their potential.
Community Challenge
In 2011-2012 we will be challenging the local community to help us buy a 8 person shuttle to enable us to broaden our horizons and deliver activities off site. We will need to raise between £30-£40,000.

Standing Orders

We will discuss how your donation could help and send you a standing order form so you are still in control of your donations. All you have to do is complete the standing order and drop it in at your bank. Your donation will automatically be sent to us by your bank. We will acknowledge confirmation of payment and contact you once a year to ensure you are happy to continue to support us. You will also receive newsletters and our annual review.

Legacies
When it comes to making a will it is right that family and friends come first. Many people also do want to leave a gift to a cause that is close to their heart.
