February Half Term Activities

UNPLUGGED ACTIVITIES 

Computing Unplugged
Monday 19 February, 10am – 12.30 

Have fun experimenting and problem solving using computational thinking skills. Create a sandwich making algorithm, dance a sorting code, and play programming games. 

Codes, Cyphers and Sequences
Monday 19 February, 1pm – 4pm 

Learn to send secret codes, use electronic kits to build a morse code machine, play code breaking games. These sessions can be booked individually but if staying for both AM and PM sessions, lunch will be between 12.30-1pm. Please bring a packed lunch. 

STEAM Challenge Day
Tuesday 20 February,10am – 4pm 

A day of problem solving, creating, co-operation, innovation and a little friendly competition for various challenges over the day including zip line vehicles, lava floors, balloon vehicles, egg drops and toxic waste! (full day, please bring a packed lunch)

Art Explorations
Wednesday 21 February, 10am – 2pm

Make and play a fun strategy board game from the ancient world, to take home. Using art and maths skills whilst discovering some interesting history. Then why not design your own game inspired by games from around the world? Maths meets art for fabulous Fibonacci creations, take home wonderful collages based on the famous Fibonacci maths sequence then create your own design, inspired by maths in nature. (please bring a packed lunch) 

All sessions will take place at St James’ Community Centre, Morpeth and will be delivered by Barnabas Safe & Sound in conjunction with Thinky Dinky Do with thanks to Morpeth Town Council for funding the project.
