Summer Activities 2025

Paddlesport at The Riverside

Monday 28th July and Monday 4th August

Session 1 – 9:30. Session 2 – 13:00. At the riverside

Paddlesports will be taking place on the river in Morpeth and will cover all sorts of craft, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes.

The session will teach the basics of each craft and games will be played too. Whilst it’s not the intension to get wet, most tend to throw themselves in at the end so a change of clothes, shoes and a towel will be needed.

Climbing at Newburn

Tuesday 29th July and Tuesday 12 August

Session 1 – 9:30. Session 2 – 13:00. Meet at Barnabas HQ

The Climbing will take place at Newburn Leisure Centre climbing wall. £5 per session.

The meeting point is at Barnabas HQ, where a minibus will take the group to the centre. The session will be 2 hours long then we will head back to Barnabas HQ where the first group can head home and the second group will be picked up.

Archery

Tuesday 5th August

Session 1 – 9:30. Session 2 – 13:00. Meet at the MUGA in Carlise Park.

The archery will take place on the MUGA in Carlise Park and the session will last for 2 hours. £5 per session.

Please make sure your child has with them clothing suitable for the weather that day and suncream and hat if needed.

Cycling Skills

Monday 11th August

Session 1 – 9:30. Session 2 – 13:00. Meet at Barnabas HQ

Cycle skills will meet at Barnabas HQ and last for 2.5hrs. £5 per person.

It will be an opportunity for your child learn how to do minor repairs and learn the skills they need to be safe on the roads. Please make sure your child has with them clothing suitable for the weather that day and suncream and hat if needed.

Arts & Crafts at Barnabas HQ

All sessions run from 13:00 – 16:00, The session is £5 per child and will include and drink and snack.

Wednesday 30th July : Art in the Park

Wednesday 6th August: Cardboard creations, moving machines masks and models

Wednesday 13th August: Make your own fidget toys and worry pets

Wednesday 20th August:  Graffiti Art

Wednesday 27th August: Chemical reactions – making a mess and sliming it up

Themed Youth Club at Barnabas HQ

All sessions run from 13:00 – 16:00, these session’s are free and the age range is 9 – 16 years.

Friday 25th July: Escape room special

Friday 1st August: Eco warrior, possibly Ferrets

Friday 8th August: Morpeth Olympics Games

Friday 15th August: Morpeth Murder Mystery Tour

Friday 22nd August: Pizza and Pud
